Well we had a lovely long weekend. No school on Friday, Monday or Tuesday, so it was a 5 day weekend!

On Friday night we went with Lyn, a friend of ours from Church to her parents house. It was her father and one of her sister's birthdays, as well as it being the Moon Festival. We had a BBQ, which was absolutely delicious! The best steak I have had since leaving Durban!!!!

Sunday morning we took a bus to Kenting, in the very south of Taiwan. It has the most beautiful beaches. The bus ride took about 2 hours. The boys absolutely loved it!

It was so great to see blue sea and white sand again. The only thing is the sand at the shore break had really big pebbles, so it made it really difficult to walk on, for me anyway, with my "tender" feet.

The other thing is that they made us wear life jackets to swim in, and tried to get us to pay NT$100 each for them. Luckily there were some other foreigners there who told us that they were trying to hussle money out of us, so told us we could use theirs. Some of the foreigners we met were from South Africa, one was even from Durban, so it was nice to see some "familiar" faces. They decided to have a sandcastle building competition, which I had to judge, which was quite fun!

After a few hours at the beach, we decided to take a walk into town and have a look around, and have lunch. We decided on a place that looked fairly western, and a bonus was that they served pizza! The boys were so happy, they shared a pizza and chips, J also had a pizza, and I had a pesto chicken salad. It was delicious! We then took the boys to an arcade where they played a couple of games, and then decided it was time to head on home.

We caught another bus home at around 5pm, and this time it took about 3 hours to get home (because of traffic), so the boys ended us sleeping on the way back (J too), I watched a movie - yes, the bus has inhouse DVD - how cool! Then after that they put on a french movie, I guess it really doesn't matter to them cos they read the subtitles anyway, so I just watched the scenery instead! (I don't understand French or read Chinese!)

When we finally reached Donggang, we woke up the boys, although they didn't really want to wake up, so we told them we were going to McDonalds, of course that woke them up straight away!

So it has been a really lovely weekend, hope you guys are all well.

~* Peace and Love *~
