Willow-River's birthday was great! We gave him a bicycle which he absolutely loves! He says it is much better than his one at home in South Africa (which it is), and all he wants to know now, is if he can take it back to SA...
Then we went to see an old army museum and tunnels, which the boys absolutely loved! After that we went to eat at a place called QK, and Willow-River had his usual noodles and cheese (actually all the boys had that), and we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. I said we didn't have any candles, so maybe we could put a cigarette on top (which we didn't have either), but he thought this was the funniest thing I have ever said! (See the photo on the blog in the birthday album of him laughing). After lunch the boys went to their Tae Kwon Do lesson.
Later on in the afternoon, we went to Xibian beach, where they were having a festival again and Jason had a gig. While Jason was singing, the boys and I rode the 4 wheeler motorbikes on the beach. Willow-River and Talis-Rain each rode on their own and Keanu-Storm and I rode on one together - what fun!
After Jason finished his gig, we went to another beach for a farewell to friends of ours, John and Erica, who went back home to Canada. We ate pizza and Willow-River helped to build a bonfire on the beach - he had such a great time! Then everyone sang "happy birthday" to him again, he was so chuffed!!! So I think he really enjoyed his birthday. Of course what also made his day was that he got a phone call from his nana and papa (my folks), and aunty Mel (my sister), to wish him a happy birthday - he was so pleased.
On Monday Willow-River got his present all the way from South Africa from his nana, papa and aunty Mel. He got a soccer ball (he loves soccer), and a "Sharks" flag. For those of you who don't know who the "Sharks" are, they are a rugby team from our hometown of Durban, South Africa, and Willow-River and Papa (my dad) used to go to every game together, so they are both missing this "tradition"! And of course some of the boys favourite sweets and chocolate biscuits were added into the gift as well!!! And I got my parcel from Mel with my "toiletries" that are hard to come by on this island!!!
Una and Allen have found themselves a lovely tradional chinese house in Jincheng - it really is quaint! Which means that the cooking is all done by me now - but we are surviving - although I have to say that I think tofu is really overrated - anyone with any good recipes for tofu, let me know!
We had so much rain the other day, they even cancelled school on Tuesday and called it a "typhoon holiday"! The boys had a great time playing in the rain - what fun.
We were at a park the other day when some girls wanted to take a photo of the boys, (here on the island we are the tourist attraction), and of course the boys weren't interested in their picture being taken, until one of the girls got smart and whipped some candy out of her bag! Keanu-Storm turned around, grabbed the candy and ran!!! So Jason had to go to the boys and explain to them that the girls really wanted a picture of them, so they then posed for the picture, and got their candy, so they were all happy in the end!!! I have been thinking of making a few copies of photos of the boys and keeping them in my bag to hand out to people if they are trying to take pictures of the boys, cos they don't really like their pictures been taken, especially by strangers!!!
Well, I think that is all the news I have for the past 2 weeks or so, keep well, and leave a comment if you wish.

~* Peace and Love *~
