10 Month Anniversary, Homestudy and just a beautiful day all round!!!

Well, today marks our 10 month anniversary of Asia-Faith comming home to us! In some ways I can't believe it has been that long already and in some ways it seems like just yesterday! She truly is a little blessing (or actually a big blessing), to our family.

The Homestudy went well. The supervisor came with a Social Worker, and we invited our friend Wendy (who is Taiwanese) to help translate (although the supervisor did speak a bit of English).

He just asked us a few questions, like our motivation for adopting, Jason's salary, and what is our "nurture plan", (not too sure what that was, but he seemed satisfied with our answer), and then he had a quick look around the apartment.

He said he would have the report off to the judge in the next few days, so hopefully when the judge gets it he won't take too long to make his final ruling!

I am so glad to have another step behind us!

Then this afternoon I took the kids to the park, it was such a beautiful sunny day, I could not let it go to waste! So the boys took their baseball bats and their rugby ball and we headed off to the park!

Asia-Faith was too cute, she was dressed in her pants with pockets (she loves pockets), and was walking with her hands in her pockets, looking like a little tomboy rather than a fairy princess, anyway, she walked up to this little girl, who looked about the same age, and just started saying hello to her and trying to pull her hand for her to come and play - the little girl was not interested and kept running to hide behind her mom... next thing Asia-Faith comes back to me and grabs the rugby ball, heads back to the little girl and throws it towards her - the little girl just standing there - Asia-Faith finally gives up and just picks up the ball and comes back to me... and decides to play with me instead! It was too cute to watch the interactions with her and this other little girl.

Then Jason joined us at the park (he had some time between his lessons), and the boys had great fun playing baseball with daddy, and then we all joined in and played rugby together, all tackling each other and just having a great time! I am sure the locals must have thought that our family was quite mad! Anyway, we were having fun!

I must say I am quite amazed with the way the animals here are treated. Most dogs you see are either always tied on a leash or are locked in a cage. Then you get the other extreme where the dogs are treated like children...When we were at the park on the weekend, there was a little girl pushing her 2 dogs in a stroller - not a child stroller, but a stroller made for dogs!!! (see picture below), then today at the park we see another dog in a stroller, this one had little pony tails in her hair and a full outfit on, being pushed around the track by its "mom", who was decked in high heels and handbag to match walking laps around the track, while doggie gets pushed in her stroller!!! I had a good old chuckle at that one!!!

And then this evening we had Rory, Stu and Tiffany around for dinner, so it was a good end to a lovely day.... now I am ready for bed!

~* Peace and Love *~

The sun setting when we were leaving the park...

Taking the dogs for a walk....

This spider was on our balcony a few days ago....can you say big!
