It is now April already and Easter weekend too! I am thinking of everyone who is at Splashy Fen this weekend - hope they don't get rained out! The weather has been miserable here too this week, cold and wet! Typical "Easter" weather though!
For those of you who got my "newsletter", most of the news is here as well, but happy reading anyway...
Well things here have been going really well. Asia-Faith has really adjusted well to our family! She is truly a little angel. She has her nap at around 10am in the mornings, and I give her her bottle, she lays on her bed with her pillow and a pillowcase which she loves playing with the zipper on it, and once she finishes her bottle, she rolls over and sleeps for about 2 hours.... WOW and she has a similar routine in the evening (sometimes I hold her while she goes to sleep), and then she sleeps right through the night!!!
We are still trying to get her adoption finalised. Things seem to be going slowly in that department. We are now waiting to have a homestudy done and then it all goes to the courts and we await the final adoption decree. So please keep praying that this will all be done smoothly and without any hiccups, and that it is done soon - so we can come home for a visit!!!
We will hopefully be registring for adoption at the end of April, so please keep us in your prayers.
The boys are doing so well too. Willow-River is still in chinese school and learning so much everyday (they can now communicate between themselves a little without mom and dad knowing what is going on!), and he is also learning Japanese! His latest thing to make (well he has made 2 so far), is handbags out of paper! He made one for me and one for his teacher! He is so proud of them - so perhaps we have a future designer in our family!
Talis-Rain celebrated his 6th birthday on the 12 March, and we got him a bicycle! He was so thrilled!!! He loves to go riding... He now also has a loose tooth which he is very proud of - he has been wiggling his teeth often these past few weeks and asking if it is loose, so now he finally has a loose tooth:)
Keanu-Storm is adjusting to not being the "baby" anymore, although there wasn't much adjusting really. He loves Asia-Faith to bits, and if anyone jokingly says that she is going home with them, he practically bursts into tears and grabs onto Asia-Faith's legs! He really adores her (except when she breaks his toys - like his railway tracks... somehow she managed to get hold of 3 of them and snapped them in half - he was so upset as his trains are VERY special to him!!!). He got over it soon enough though!
Talis-Rain and Keanu-Storm are no longer in Chinese school - they started going to a new class (all day), and they were charging a ridiculous amount which we thought was way too much to spend for them to be learning Chinese, so they are back at home with me again, so it has meant trying to get back into a school routine with all of them, and of course put up with the "I don't want to do this", and then the other saying "if he doesn't do it then I won't!" .... oh boy oh boy.... the joys... but I am glad to have them back with me - I missed them when they were away!
Well, as if I don't have enought to do, we have adopted another orphan! This time it is a 4 legged one... Jason took the boys to the park across the road and there was a little kid there with a kitten that he was throwing around and teasing a dog with, so Jason rescued it and brought it home! He took it to the vet to get checked out and was told it was only about a week old! It's eyes and ears were still closed and it still had the umbilical cord attached! The vet gave us powder milk to feed it with (still don't know if it is a girl or boy - it is only about 2 weeks old now, so still a bit small to tell). Most of you will remember the 3 kittens my sister rescued and gave to me - they were about 3 weeks when we got them - so it is the same story - feeding this little one with a syringe every 4 hours and having to wipe its bottom to make it wee:) But it is too sweet! Willow-River named it (with a bit of assistance and suggestions from all of us), and it is called Mr Tai (Tai as is Taiwan), and the Mr because Jason's boss is Mr Tsai - so they thought it very funny and cute to call it Mr Tai (I guess if we discover it is a girl, I guess it will then be Mrs Tai).
Last weekend we went to the Mongolian circus. It was so incredible! The acrobatics were amazing, it brought back such memories of when I wanted to join Boswell Wilke Circus when I was in Standard 9!!! The boys enjoyed it too (Asia-Faith seemed to enjoy it, although she ended up falling asleep! I don't think it was the show, I think she was just tired!)...LOL
The Doulos came to Taiwan and I went with some friends to go see it last Sunday, however there were so many people we were told we would have to wait 2 hours just to get tickets to get on, so we had to leave it, and we went window shopping instead! I had left Jason at home with the boys and by the time Asia-Faith and I came home (around 10pm), he had bathed and washed the boys hair, made dinner, given them their milkshakes and got them all off to bed and were all sound asleep when I got home (oh, and the apartment was tidy)!!! I think I should do that more often...
I have also finally gotten back into my scrapbooking! I am so excited... On Saturday morning Jason took the boys to the beach, Asia-Faith had her nap time and I did scrapbooking! I brought most of my stuff with me from home (just as well cos I haven't found much here), but I did find a "package" at Costco (a USA bulk store - like Makro), and it had 2 albums in and fibres, brads and paper - so I was thrilled! So I am back into it...
Another bit of happy news is that Rory (Jason's nephew & mine too of course!) is comming to stay with us soon! He should be here in a few weeks! We can't wait and the boys are so excited too!!!
It is a long weekend here this weekend. Today (Thursday) is known as "Tomb sweeping day", where the children pay respects to their ancestors. They have also declared tomorrow (Friday) a public holiday, so we have a 4 day weekend - only catch is that next Saturday is a "working" day to make up for tomorrow - so there will be school and normal work next Saturday...
We are hoping to go to Kenting on Saturday with friends and maybe to some hot springs too, and then on Sunday at church we are watching "The Passion", and then Sunday afternoon/evening we are going to a friend, Kevin, in Pingtung for a bring and share meal - so it is going to be a busy and fun weekend.
Well, I think that is about it for now, hope you are all well, and please drop us a line sometime and let us know how you are doing!
Have a GREAT Easter, and have an easter egg for us - none of those here (not that I have seen!)...
~* Peace and Love *~
