Well, this morning we left Michael's place and caught the tube to town and then caught a taxi to Shongshan Airport to catch a plane to Kinmen - what an experience! Especially since it was about 8am and people were obviously on their way to work! Boy, you must see the esculator's - they are so steep!

Anyway, we got to the airport and basically sat there all day waiting for a flight! Eventually we got a flight at 16:25, although it was only confirmed at about 15:45. So it was a mad rush to get our luggage out of the lockers and get through to hand it in and get our boarding pass and go up to the 2nd floor, through security, and then to the boarding gate - we basically ran - 'cos I wasn't going to miss this flight! Jason was a bit concerned that we hadn't phoned anyone to let them know we would be arriving in Kinmen, but I said it didn't matter - as long as we were finally on the island.

The flight was only about 50minutes, very quick. Keanu-Storm slept the whole flight and the other 2 didn't stop talking. Talis-Rain always shouts whenever we take off "I'm a riding cowboy!" - it is too cute! Luckily Willow-River's ears didn't worry him - I think he was talking to dad too much to really notice!

As it turns out, Jimmy pitched up at the airport - just in case we arrived, and managed to get all our luggage and all of us into his car! WOW!!!

Driving through Kinmen I got to see a little of the island, but all I really wanted to do was get to where we were going - which we did! We arrived at Sumarti and Tapasi's house - a very big house - which they share with another couple, Una and Alan and their 3 little girls, Cherry (8 years), CC (6 years) and Jen Jen (3 years), and Subaba. Sumarti and Tapasi have 2 little boys, Fufolong (4 years) and Amarita (2 and a half years) - they are all very cute!

We have a sign on our bedroom and bathroom door saying "For Jason's", and our bedroom is big and airconditioned, which you definately need here, with 2 double mattresses on the floor, a couch and big built-in cupboards.

There are 2 kitchens and all food is completely vegeterian and organic - no eggs or preservatives! So dinner was interesting! Rice, mixed veg, tofu (chili or powdered), seaweed, white carrot, mango & sweet potato dish, and a few other things I don't really know what they were - but I at least tried a bit of everything! Needless to say the boys ate dry rice, although Talis-Rain and Keanu-Storm tried the soup - which I thought needed salt, but apparently over here salt isn't used much!

Dinner was only at about 9pm - then after dinner we all went for a walk down the road (very safe) and ended up at a lovely children's park with slides and things - the kids played for a while, then we went home.

We all had showered before dinner - which is an interesting experience - basically the bathroom is the shower - you have a hand held shower (which also fits into the wall), and you wet yourself, lather and rinse - very quick! I just have to figure out how not to get my clothes wet - but I think I have a solution - I need to get a gown! The other thing I will need to get used to is the fact that you can't flush toilet paper down the loo - there is a special bin next to the loo for your used paper!

The other thing is the shoes - you get these "slippers" to wear around the house (which are plastic), but you don't wear them in the living areas - like the bedroom or lounge - it is actually very good - it keeps the dirt out!

The boys finally got to bed at midnight! Actually all the kids were still running around at that time!

~* Peace and Love *~
